MICAELA LEON hat eine langjährige Erfahrung als Sängerin und Schauspielerin in Oper, Musicaltheater, Schauspiel und zeitgenössischer Musik. Sie absolvierte ihr Gesangsstudium an der Hochschule für Musik Dresden und am Trinity College of Music London. Schauspieltraining erhielt sie am Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute New York City und in London mit Jude Alderson , deren Theaterensemble Amazonia Music Theatre Company sie ebenfalls angehörte. Micaela konnte früh Erfahrung auf der Bühne mit Künstlern, wie z.B. Placido Domingo, Margit Carstensen, Philipp Glass und Carlos Saura sammeln.
Micaela hat sich seit einigen Jahren auf das Repertoire der 1920er und 1930er Jahre spezialisiert. Ihre Shows hat sie sowohl international an vielen Theatern und Clubs in NYC, Großbritannien, Skandinavien sowie auch in Deutschland, u.a. in Bonn (Pantheon), München (NS Dokumentationszentrum), Flensburg (Museumsberg), Darmstadt (halbNeun Theater, Jüdische Gemeinde, Institut Mathildenhöhe), Stuttgart (Augustinum Killesberg & Haus der Humanisten) etc. aufgeführt.
Das Zelebrieren der deutsch-jüdischen Kultur ist für Micaela Leon ein Herzensanliegen. Zusammen mit dem Jewish Music Institute London, dem British Holocaust-Memorial-Day in London, dem Leo Baeck Institute New York und zuletzt im NS Dokumentationszentrum München und der Jüdischen Gemeinde Darmstadt, konnte Micaela Leon verschiedene Projekte und Konzerte entwickeln und aufführen.
MICAELA LEON has a breadth of experience as a singer and actress having performed opera, musical theatre, cabaret, classical theatre, and contemporary music. Early on she gained experience by performing with greats such as Placido Domingo, Margit Carstensen, Philip Glass and Carlos Saura. She studied at Hochschule für Musik, Dresden and Trinity College of Music, London, and also at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York and with Jude Alderson in London. She was also a member of Alderson's London Amazonia Music Theatre Company. Leon is a NY Nightlife Award finalist and was nominated as outstanding Debut Female Artist at the Manhattan Association of Cabaret Awards.
In NYC, Leon has performed at Café Sabarsky at Neue Galerie, The Metropolitan Room, Iridium Jazz Club, Le Poisson Rouge, Spiegeltent, Gotham Comedy Club, and the legendary Don’t Tell Mama among others. She is a member of the Kabarett Kollektiv NYC and has performed to packed houses in London’s former legendary Pizza on the Park, the Edinburgh Festival, and the Pantheon Theater in Bonn, Germany to name a few.
Her commitment to preserving and passing on the memories of the German atrocities during the Third Reich, and the celebration of German-Jewish culture has led her to various projects and concerts with the Jewish Music Institute London, the UK Holocaust Memorial Day in London, NS-Dokumentationzentrum Munich, and the Leo Baeck Institute New York.
JEKATERINA IWANOWA, Pianistin - Musikalische Leitung
Die Pianistin JEKATERINA IWANOWA erhielt ihre Ausbildung an der Hochschule für Musik Petrozavodsk (Russland), an der sie unter anderem die Liedklasse bei Prof. T. Bibikova besuchte. Anschließend schloss sie ein Masterstudium für Liedinterpretation bei Prof. C. Witthoefft an der Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart ab. Frau Iwanowa-Wörle hat sich insbesondere durch ihre ausdrucksstarke Liedbegleitung im klassischen Fach einen Namen gemacht hat, u.a. für den international gefragten Tenor Robert Wörle und für die Sopranistinnen Frédérique Friess und Maria Palaska. Seit Anfang 2016 begleitet sie auch Meisterkurse der Hugo-Wolff-Gesellschaft, u.a. geleitet von der Mezzo-Sopranistin Christina Müller und dem brasilianischen Pianisten Marcelo Amaral. Jekaterina Iwanowa konzertiert auch als Solistin und Kammermusikerin in Deutschland, Russland und Weißrussland.
